Character inference

Learning Intention: WALT discuss the character.
Success criteria: I can describe the character using adjectives.
I can use quotes and actions to support what the character is like.

I can put myself in the character's shoes to help me understand him or her.

                                                           Reflection
I was learning to discuss the character.  I realised that we actually needed to think about what they're saying and their actions.  It was tricky because thinking of answers in the book is really tricky because you might think that but it is actually not an action or quote and a different is.

I was learning to tell the time. Now I know that quarter past is 15 minutes have past. I also know that quarter to is when there is only 15 minutes have past.  It was easy for me because I already knew how to tell the time and use my 5 times tables.

Reflection 

I was learning to write persuasive text.  Now I know how to back-up my reasons with my examples.  For an example: Giants like to eat people in the BFG.  It was tricky for me because it was tricky to think of examples to go with my reasons.

I am learning about direct speech in a narrative story.  Now I know that the quotation marks go after the other punctuation marks.  It was easy because I learnt that in my writing the speech marks have to go after other punctuation marks.

Making and justifying inferences


I was learning to make inferences.  I know I have to find clues in the story book like what the characters say and their actions.  It was easy for me because there were lots of clues in the words and also in the pictures.

Making equal shares


I was learning to make equal shares (division.)  Now I know that equal shares are done by doubles\ halves and skip counting.  Heres a example 15/5 has 5 cars and 15 little people that want to get inside.  So the best one to use would be halves because you know 5+5=10+5=15 so it is 5 in each cars.  It was easy for me because it was to find equal shares and groups.

I was learning to describe the setting.  Now I know you need to adjectives.  Adjectives are describing words like ancient and amazing.  It was easy  to describe because it was easy to find adjectives

I was learning to make compound sentences.  Now I know that in compound sentences for the conjunctions that you can use are for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so, because.  It was easy because I know that in compound sentences they are longer then other sentences.

Features of a recount

I was learning about recounts.  I know that in a recounts it has a Introduction, body and a conclusion.  It was easy for me because it was easy to think of a hook.  It is also easy because sequencing words are in the body.  The conclusion is I feel happy about the day!

I was learning to understand multiplication.  Now I know it`s not read  like 5 times 2.  It actually read like 5 groups of 2.  It was a  bit easy and tricky for me because I did not know that it was read like 9 groups of 9.

Splitting 3 digit number into tens and ones

I was learning to show  3 digit numbers in tens and ones.  It was easy to find the tens because the tens are always in the middle if it is a 3-digit number. If it is a 2-digit number the ten is always in the front like 52 the ten is 50.
